This post will explore how the Bateaux Dinner Cruise New York helped me create unforgettable memories and celebrate in style. We’ll also explore why celebrating milestones is meaningful and how it can help you move forward positively. If you or a loved one has survived cancer, read on and discover how you can make memories that will last a lifetime.

My Story

I knew in December of 2016 that I felt something out of the ordinary in my breast, but in typical Amy fashion, I did nothing. In June 2017, I knew the lump was more prominent, yet I did nothing. Fast forward to September of 2017, I was scheduled for my annual pap smear, and what did Julie find? She found a lump the size of a walnut. She directed me to have a biopsy at my local hospital, but I waited until November.

On Friday, November 13th, at 4:30 pm, Julie called me. She began to go over the test results in Dr. jargon when finally she said, “Amy, it’s cancer.” shocked, I hung on the phone silent until Julie said she felt I should be asking her more questions. Usually, I fire off more questions than she probably cares to hear, but this time I was silent. I replied, “Not now; when this all sinks in, I may have questions later.” We ended our call, and I walked into my boss’s office and said, “I’m going home. I have cancer.” Then I walked out the door. That was the beginning of my war against cancer.

The Benefits of Celebrating Milestones

One of the keys to thriving after overcoming cancer is to celebrate milestones. By recognizing the goals and milestones achieved, individuals gain a sense of accomplishment and hope that can aid their recovery. Such celebrations provide an opportunity to reflect on the journey, acknowledge the strength gained through the process, and create lasting memories that contribute to a positive perspective. Taking the time to celebrate is essential to healing and can inspire renewed determination and hope for the future.

Staying Encouraged on the Journey

As survivors continue on their journey of recovery, it’s important to stay encouraged and maintain a positive mindset. The journey may be filled with ups and downs, but celebrating the small wins can significantly affect how survivors perceive their progress. Whether completing a challenging treatment or reaching a milestone in their recovery, recognizing these accomplishments can boost morale and inspire survivors to keep pushing forward toward their goals. In the end, the small wins add up to a larger victory, and survivors can take pride in knowing that they have overcome incredible obstacles and grown stronger through their experiences.,

Halfway through treatment, I had grown weary of the process. In order to work during tax season, I asked my oncologist if she could switch my treatment around. She did not advise working, but to be honest, I needed it. She agreed, so I took the ‘lighter’ of the chemo concoction, Taxol, first. After six weeks, I was supposed to begin the second part of the regimen, but I needed a break. I needed to feel alive; and wanted to see something new.

The Need for Travel

I told my doctor I wanted to travel before starting the second round and that I needed to be away from the world cancer. She agreed, and I called up my best girlfriend, Michelle, and we headed to Savannah, Georgia. It may not have been the best time for travel, given that my immune system was severely weakened, but the celebration of completing the first milestone was definitely what I needed to prepare my mind for what was next.

Surviving cancer and moving forward requires a combination of physical, emotional, and mental strength. Celebrating milestones can effectively cultivate and strengthen all three of these areas, providing a necessary boost to those who have been through the cancer journey. By taking the time to recognize and celebrate the achievements that result from perseverance and hard work, individuals can find the motivation and inspiration they need to continue forward on their path of recovery.,

The breast cancer journey is a grueling process that takes mental and physical willpower to conquer. My treatment began in February 2018 and ended with six weeks of daily radiation in October 2018. That was a long eight months of fear, worry, and exhaustion. I tried to remain as positive as possible, but some days it was downright hard to stay upbeat. With the end of treatment nearing, I felt I deserved to celebrate the journey, and I did just that. After discussing it with my mom, sister, and friend, we decided on a dinner cruise on the Bateaux.

Celebrating the Small Wins

As survivors begin to celebrate the end of their cancer journey, they should take a moment to reflect on all the small wins that got them to where they are today. There were countless obstacles to overcome from the first day of treatment to the last. Every appointment, every test, every treatment was a battle. But through it all, survivors persevered. They showed incredible strength and resilience and should be proud of their accomplishments.

Survivors achieved many small victories, whether it was getting through a tough chemotherapy session, reaching a new physical milestone, or simply making it through a difficult day. These wins may have seemed insignificant then, but they were anything but. They proved that survivors were moving in the right direction, progressing toward their ultimate goal of beating cancer.

By celebrating the small wins, survivors can stay motivated and encouraged as they continue their recovery journey. They can reflect on their accomplishments and see how far they have come. And they can use those victories as fuel to keep pushing forward, knowing that every step they take is bringing them closer to a future free from cancer.

As survivors celebrate their small wins, it’s important to remember that they are not alone. There is a whole community of survivors, caregivers, and supporters who understand what they have been through and are there to help them along the way. By reaching out and connecting with others who have gone through similar experiences, survivors can find comfort and camaraderie that can make all the difference.
